That Chalmers crest was found carved in the stone of Hugh Chalmers mausoleum. Who was the father of James Chalmers Sr, who married Sannah Trail and also started the Aberdeen journal. Who you mentioned. That’s how that crest came to light and was associated with the Highland Chalmers. These Two gentlemen Hugh and James are decendant of Thomas Chalmers of Strachan, who is documented to being alive around the late 1400’s and is the father or grandfather of David Chalmers, Lord Ormond. The last person who I seen associated to and documented to that Chalmers crest, was my great grandfather William Bryce Chalmers. Who past away at the gentleman club in London in 1920.
